In Beneath the Stain - Part Two we see the boys from Outbreak Monkey living their dream. Pssst, I've changed my mind about the rest of the band….I can’t wait to see them in the spotlight too! We shall see if Travis embraces the role of the shinning white knight.

His dream come true has turned into a nightmare, and this nightmare could be his demise. Shortchanged from the start, life hasn't been kind to him. Travis, the fans, and myself….simply can’t get enough Mackey. He is certainly not looking for anyone to fill the void, but the more he discovers about the damaged young rock star the more intrigued he becomes.Įnthrallment is not something you can hide from, and he is definitely captivated. Licking his own wounds, he has yet to recover from a fresh break up. Trav doesn’t take shit from anyone, but that doesn’t exclude or protect him from the shitstorm his life has become. Travis is older, wiser and rough around the edges. Mackey needs someone to ground him, someone to answer to, someone to keep in him line and Travis is just the man to do it. When his manager becomes a casualty of this cycle Mackey spins out of control. A harmonious cycle of drugs keep him alive. If only he didn't have to remind himself to breath. Whatever his intentions, he's succeeding. Perhaps he is attempting to anesthetize his entire existence. A raw, festering wound thrives within Mackey and thanks to his manager he’s found a way to numb the pain. The key is… he’s still not over the pain. Without spoiling part one I can only tip-toe around why Mackey’s fragile world shattered just as it was taking off. He is still desperately lost, but now he’s teetering on a dangerous line, and one wrong slip and its game over. The last episode left him scattered, pieces fluttering to the wind. The tone has changed, the desperation is thick, and the angst is hotter than ever. I mean, I’m suffering right now, but it’s a good pain. **Chomp, chomp, chomp….bounce, bounce, bounce….stares at calendar, willing it to fast forward** I think I know what comes next and it's going to break my heart. The ending of this one made my heart ache. I’ll get paid a fucking fortune to carry you down to the fucking ambulance because you can’t tell the fucking truth, even to yourself.” "I’ll just keep that bus to rehab all warmed up for you, okay, Mackey? That’ll be my job. So you don’t make no fucking assumptions about what you think you know about me and mine, you hear?”

I hate that you saw me naked and sweating and helpless. I hate that you even think you know as much as you do. They became famous too fast and Machey lost himself in drugs. I still resent Grant for his choices, but he's out of the picture. I enjoyed this one more than the first book.
